Support for neutrality growing

New polling by the Lowy Institute has found that, in the event of an armed conflict between the US and China over Taiwan, a majority of Australians (56%) support Australia remaining neutral. This number has increased from 51% a year ago.

Notably, the American public is even less supportive of getting directly involved in armed conflict over Taiwan. Polling by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs found just 40% of Americans would support sending American troops to a Taiwan conflict.
