Cailey Sharp

Social Justice Facilitator

In August of 2022, Cailey Sharp was fortunate to undergo the 8-week internship program offered by the Justice & Peace Office. Inspired by the drive, passion and social justice activism of the JPO community, Cailey decided to stay with the JPO team as a Junior Mentor whilst completing her BA Psychological Science at the Australian Catholic University. This allowed her to further her commitment to tackling social issues and assist in coordinating social justice projects such as JPO’s ‘Redefining Normal: Mental Health, Alcohol and other Drugs Workshop‘.

Cailey has extensive volunteer experience surrounding disaster relief and global crises support for the Crossroads Foundation in China, serving for a community food service program providing home-cooked meals for anyone facing hardships and disadvantages, as well as directing and assisting in creativity-focused programs for primary and high-school students of the Illawarra.

As a Social Justice Facilitator and Intern Coordinator with the JPO as well as undertaking an Advanced Graduate Diploma in Psychology at the University of Technology Sydney, Cailey continues to nurture her passions for mental health advocacy, aged care reform and other social injustices while aiming to empower the present and future interns of the JPO to be agents of change across the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney
