FRATELLI TUTTI – New Encyclical

Brothers and Sisters All – On Fraternity and Social Friendship

On the vigil of the Feast of St Francis of Assisi this year, Pope Francis signed his latest Encyclical Fratelli Tutti (Brothers and Sisters all) on fraternity and social friendship.

Although Pope Francis started writing the encyclical before the COVID – 19 Pandemic, it has taken on new significance as a result as the pandemic and has also been called a guide for all of humanity to get through the pandemic better than we were before.

Highlights from the launch of the encyclical are available from the Vatican News website.

A brief summary of the encyclical in the Australian Context is available from the website of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference Office for Social Justice.

The initial response from the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference to the Encyclical is available from their website.
