It is almost impossible to believe that it is Advent yet again and that we have said goodbye to another Church year and are getting ready to say farewell to 2016!
In this final 2016 Issue of Act Justly our opening article follows up on the progress of our work on protecting penalty rates and Boxing Day trading restrictions. And it connects these to a bigger picture of a long Catholic tradition of speaking up for the importance of work in relation to time, families, relationships and communities. There is a piece on an extraordinarily successful ministry ‘Gabbies Angels’ which provides clothes, hygiene and infants’ products to those in need across the world, often transforming societies forever . We also have a wrap-up piece and photos from our October Social Justice Gathering. And there are some interesting titbits throughout this issue including a few ideas for getting out and about and some good summer reading.
We hope you enjoy this Issue!
From all of us here at the Justice and Peace Office we wish you and all your dear ones a joyful Advent season, and a Christmas filled with the love and hope of Jesus.
