The World Day of Peace was instituted by Blessed Pope Paul VI in 1968 and is celebrated each year on this day, which is also the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God. The Pope gives a special message which is sent to all foreign ministers around the world. This year the message is titled, Migrants and Refugees: Men and Women in Search of Peace.
