As we said last Wednesday evening at our Housing Assembly with Minister Anthony Roberts and the Greater Sydney Commission, ‘we are in it for the long haul’.
Many of the hundreds of you who came along have already signed up for an action or two but if you haven’t and would like to, or if even if you weren’t there last Wednesday but care about Affordable Housing please join us on August 3rd as we support St Vincent de Paul in the reading of their hugely successful petition in their ‘Right to Home’ campaign. The Society and all of its hardworking members surpassed the goal of 10 000 signatures to reach 18 000 and counting. They are asking that wherever there is a major new development, at least 15% be set aside for affordable housing. They want to follow up this huge success with a good show of support in the Viewing Gallery at NSW Parliament at the petition reading. The JPO will be proudly standing alongside the Society so if you would like to come along to join us, please do!
