The Laudato Si’ Leadership Initiative: Privacy Collection Notice

 We care about your privacy at the Justice and Peace Office. If your Parish has submitted your personal information as part of an Expression of Interest in the Laudato Si’ Leadership Initiative (the Initiative) (including the Animator Program (Program)), the Notice below describes how your personal information will be collected and dealt with by our Office.Peace Dove from Justice and Peace Office - Information Book 2014

 

Your personal information (including your name, contact details, such as phone number and address, demographic information such as age and occupation, and photographs of you) is being collected by the Justice and Peace Office for the purposes of:

  • Contacting the parish that has nominated you, in relation to your nomination and the Expression of Interest;
  • Determining whether you and your parish will be successful participants, and contacting you in that regard;
  • If you are a successful participant, maintaining contact with you in relation to the Program and the parish-based project that you will lead; and
  • Monitoring the progress of each parish-based project.

In providing your permission for the submission of an expression of interest proposing your participation in the Program, you consent to the Justice and Peace Office publishing a brief biography on your participation in, and experience of, the Initiative, for the purposes of promoting the Initiative, and encouraging the parish-based projects.

The information collected and used by the Justice and Peace Office, will be information provided through the Expression of Interest, information provided by the parish to which you belong in relation to your nomination, and any information provided by you in the course of your correspondence with us, including by phone, email or in person.

The Justice and Peace Office reserves the right to share the information collected with the offices and agencies of the Archdiocese of Sydney and its related entities, the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, Catholic Earthcare Australia, and any relevant agencies or organisations associated with individual parish-based projects. Such information may be shared for reasons including, but not limited to, ensuring registration of participants in the Program, and discussing and promoting the Program and parish-based project(s).

We may also use the contact details that you have provided to us to send you information and materials related to our activities, functions and initiatives, including, where you have opted in, via email or other digital communications.

We will only disclose your information in accordance with this Collection Notice, or with your express permission, or where we are required or authorised to do so, by Australian law (including the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 (Cth)).
